March Empties 2017

Welcome to my first empties post! I was going to do one in February, but didn’t have enough empty products in the end. I like to read other people’s monthly empties posts because you can discover new products, and find out what works.

Make Up

Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer

I have purchased this three times now! I can’t put mascara on now without wearing it; it just doesn’t feel right without it. It is a brown mink colour, so you can use it as a natural looking mascara, or put a coat of black mascara over the top.

Benefit ‘Gimme Brow’

I have the lightest shade here, which is for blonde hair. Even though it is for people with blonde hair, it is still quite dark (I have dark blonde hair, so it works well for me). I love all of Benefit’s eyebrow products, but this is my favourite.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Lip Balm

This lip balm is from the ‘8 Hour’ range by Elizabeth Arden. It’s designed to provide moisture for 8 hours, so I used it as a night lip balm. It’s like any other lip balm, to be honest- I have used cheaper ones before, which were just as good! I wouldn’t repurchase this product as there are cheaper alternatives.

L’OREAL Telescopic Mascara

Sorry, I forgot to add it to the picture below! I got this mascara in my Latest In Beauty subscription box (click here to read my review). This mascara has a thin plastic wand that I like a lot. I have purchased this mascara two times now!

Bath & Body

Baylis & Harding Hand Cream

I have used Baylis & Harding products before; they sell a wide range of products, and everything always smells so good. However, this hand cream isn’t one of those products! It’s supposed to smell of coconut and lime, but I can hardly smell anything. It also isn’t moisturising, and it irritated my skin.

Radox Vapour Therapy Bath Salts

In my opinion, these bath salts smell lovely! I think I got around six baths out of this packet. I bought them for £1 from PoundStretcher, which is a bargain! I would repurchase these bath salts without hesitation.

Superdrug Nourishing Bath Crème

This is a bubble bath, but it’s a little thicker than bubble baths I’m used to. It smells of shea butter, vanilla and almond which is very pleasant. The only negative is that you have to use quite a lot to get a decent amount of bubbles, it is cheap though so it doesn’t really matter.

Skin Care

Clean & Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion

I have been using this lotion for so many years! I use this twice a day: I use it in the morning to refresh my face, and at night time to remove my make up. Just make sure you don’t put it near your eyes, it stings! This product works perfectly for me and I hope they never discontinue this product.

Urban Veda Soothing Hydrating Toner

This is another product I received in my Latest In Beauty subscription box. I haven’t heard of this brand before; I would like to know what other products they do. It contains 14 botanical ingredients to help balance the skin. I would repurchase this toner.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I have probably repurchased this product around ten times now! I use this to remove my eye makeup, and the lotion to remove my face makeup- this is a routine I have been doing for a long time now. I would like to try a different micellar water, but I worry none will be as good.

Frizz Ease 3 Straight

This is the heat protection spray I use all the time! I just love John Frieda hair products, especially the Frizz Ease collection. Even though it is quite a small bottle, it does last quite a while. This is my favourite styling spray to use when I straighten my hair; It keeps my hair mostly straight, even when it has been raining a little bit.

Frizz Ease Flawlessly Straight Shampoo

I did have the conditioner as well, but I always finish the conditioner before the shampoo! On the bottle, it recommends using all the Frizz Ease products together to get the best results. The shampoo lathers up well, and cleanses my hair nicely. I have repurchased these products many times.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moisture Conditioner

This is my go-to deep treatment conditioner. It is recommended you leave the conditioner on your hair for 3 minutes, but I like to leave it on a little longer for extra nourishment. My hair always feels so soft after using this! I would repurchase this product.

  1. Personally I think the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour products are unlike anything I’ve ever seen! The lip balm is the only one that doesn’t feel waxy on my lips or make me “addicted” to it so that I have to keep applying it constantly… And the 8 hour cream is the only cream I can use when the skin around my eyes goes flaky and sore, all other products sting and don’t do much. And it’s not so expensive when you buy it in duty free 😀

  2. I really appreciated that you were so honest in your reviews. Most people write positive reviews only but I think the idea that you will tell us which products to stay away from as well! Thanks for sharing!
