My Bedroom Dressing Table Tour

Time for a homeware post today!

I really like the dressing table I have in my bedroom. Well, when I say my bedroom…I have to share it with my boyfriend! It is quite a girly room, but I don’t think he minds too much!

My boyfriend and I lived in a flat for 2 years before we bought our house. I always wanted a dressing table when we lived at the flat, but there wasn’t enough room. So, when we moved house this dressing table was one of the first furniture items I bought.

Do you like it? I bought it from Argos for £49.99, it is part of the ‘Malibu’ range- click HERE to view it on the website. It comes in a choice of 3 different colours. I also have the matching bedside tables, and a chest of draws.

This dressing table is perfect for me, because it is just the right size; I needed something small enough so I can access the plugs on the left hand side. I wanted to find one which has draws just like this for storage. I picked the white one, because it goes with the blue and white theme.

I would like to give you a tour of my table, and show you how I organise it. You will see on the right hand side I have 2 pots of brushes, I got them from Wilko. They don’t see them anymore, unfortunately. I keep my hair styling products on the right hand side as well. I love the basket holder I found in TK Maxx, all my products fit perfectly inside! I found it in the kitchen section!

In case you was wondering, I purchased the stool from an online furniture shop called ‘Oak Furniture Solutions’, click HERE to view it. The RRP is £139.10 (it is solid oak).

The most recent thing I bought for my dressing table set up was my rug. I had been searching for the perfect rug for several months…I finally found it last month! They don’t see it online anymore, unfortunely; I remember it cost a bargain £22. It is a thin rug with a cream and duck egg blue chevron print. I needed a thin one so I can still close the door over it!

I like to keep my decorative things on the left hand side of the table. The vase is from Dunelm, my Mum got it for me for my birthday. I love to keep it full of flowers! Click HERE to view it on the website, it costs £8.

The perfume bottle isn’t real, it’s an ornament! It was a gem of a find in Home Sense. There isn’t a Home Sense near me (unfortunately!). I went to Cambridge in December, so I went to the Home Sense there, and picked this up! I think it cost £15.

The picture in the frame was a freebie I got in my ‘Latest In Beauty’ subscription box. I got the white frame from Asda homeware section.

Time to delve into the draws…

I keep my make up in the top draw. I don’t like to have a lot of make up, I only have what I use on a regular basis. I try to use one product up at a time before I start something else (with exception of lipsticks). I having it stored here, because it is easy to access.

The second draw is a bit of a miscellaneous one! I tend to just throw random stuff in here: make up bags, toiletry bags, purses, hair curlers etc!

In the final draw I keep my perfume and jewellery. I like to keep my perfumes in the bottom draw in a basket in case they leak. I keep my silver and gold jewellery inside their boxes so they don’t get dusty, and to keep them safe.

On the left had side of the table there are 3 little shelves. I keep my hair dryer and straightners on one of the shelves, and a mini set of draws- I keep hair bands, nail varnish, earrings etc in there.

I hope you have enjoyed my dressing table tour!

Question: What dressing table have you got?

  1. Love this post. Told you I was curious about it! I have a very weird set right now, where one side of my desk is my dressing table and the other side has just regular desk things. I hope to change this soon. Xx

  4. What an adorable little station! I’m a little jealous, to be honest! I would love a dressing table like this, but there just isn’t room in my bedroom, plus when I’m getting ready early in the morning, my hubby is often still sleeping.

  5. I love this! Yours seems very organized which is a great skill. My stuff I use for getting ready tends to travel everywhere. I would love my own dressing table! Unfortunately, our flat is quite small so there’s no room. One day I’ll get one though 🙂

  6. This is so lovely. I don’t actually have a dressing table per se. Instead, I have two desks together in a corner, and one of them has my skincare/makeup on. But when I have my own house etc. I’ll definitely want a dressing table! 🙂

  7. I love it! Mine is quite small, it has a small cabinet with two shelves on one side so I have to use two small bookshelves for everything else! I’m trying to downsize because I realize that I may be turning into a hoarder 😅
I love this idea! I may have to borrow it sometime! 🙂
