Remembering The 90’s: Part 2

If you missed part one clickHERE-.

Remembering the 90’s part one is one of my post popular posts! I’m guessing this is because many of you were also born in the 90’s? As promised, here is part 2!

Just to clarify, this is the 90’s tag. I decided to do it in 2 parts because I ramble on too much!

(The pictures in this post aren’t mine, apart from the one below)

What was your favourite TV show?

Nickelodeon TV shows are covered below! There are so many other cartoons  I remember watching as well, such as: Recess, The Cramp Twins, Hey Arthur, The Powerpuff Girls. I also remember being a massive fan of Mary-Kate and Ashley shows and films! My sister and I also used to Lizzie McGuire non-stop!

What show would you watch after school?

I don’t think I used to watch TV after school. We used to always have tea at 5, so by the time we had changed out of your uniform there wasn’t much time. We used to always watch Blue Peter when we ate our tea.

Did you own a virtual pet?

Yes, I had a Tamagotchi.  I remember I had a yellow one and my sister had a pale blue and pink coloured one I think. I don’t think we played with them very long though, I don’t think we really grasped the concept of them. I remember we bought them from the car boot sale!

What was your favourite Nickelodeon show?

I think I watched most of the Nickelodeon shows! Rugrats was definitely my favourite…I can still remember the theme tune now! I also remember watching The Wild Thornberrys, Hey Arnold! and CatDog.

What was your favourite video game and system to play on?

My sister and I played a lot of computer games. Who remembers playing Reader Rabbit on the computer?! My sister and I were obsessed with it- it was a fun learning game.

I’m not sure if it was released in the 90’s, but Theme Hospital was a big bit with us. We used to play it for hoursss! I would still like to play it now, to be honest.

Rock Raiders anyone?! This was released late 90’s, probably started playing it early 00’s. I remember I was so proud of myself when I completed the whole game! I don’t think my sister played this one, so I had the game to myself!

Finally, another game I used to play was ‘Creatures’…it was the best game ever! It was an artificial life game, you had to look after your creatures, and help them explore their world! So, so fun!

What was your weirdest fashion trend?

I don’t think I was (or ever will be!) ‘trendy’. I remember Mum used to buy most of my clothes from charity shops and car boot sales. She used to dress me in leggings all the time, like brightly coloured patterned ones! When I was a little older and started to pick a few clothes out for myself ‘Tammy’ was my favourite shop (I also mentioned Tammy in part 1). I remember wearing the tops shown below!

What was your favourite toy?

I can’t remember having a specific favourite toy apart from my cuddly toy ducks. They came everywhere with me…I still have a couple now, all be it a bit tattered! We had a lot of toys, but like I said before lots were secondhand from car boots sales and charity shops. We liked girly girl toys like Barbies and dolls. Here are some pictures of toys I remember having…

I hope you have enjoyed yet another blast from the past! If you have done the 90’s tag or anything 90’s related send me a ling…I would love to see how you remember the 90’s! I have really enjoyed doing these 90’s posts.

Question: What is your fondest memory from the 90’s?

  2. This is so crazy, but that blue top you posted on the left, I actually use to own that! I completely forgot about it but I’m pretty sure it was Tammy, as I use to have a similar beach towel as well. Haha Tammy was life! And I can’t believe you mentioned reader rabbit…here comes reader rabbit…I think is the song. No one I know, knows about it. The shows you posted I also loved – especially rugrats! I have no idea how I had so much time in the morning, to actually watch T.V. I can just about eat breakfast now! Awesome post, thank you for sharing!

    1. Tammy was the best 😉. When I typed Tammy into Google there were so many items of clothing I remember having. There was this purple tie dye long sleeved top I wore to death, but couldn’t find a picture of. Yay, you remember Reader Rabbit! Best PC game ever 😜. I’m glad you enjoyed the post! 😄

  3. Tamagotchi! I had a blue one I think.
I remember the colourful leggings – I remember I had a pair of flower ones with lace at the bottom. 😛
My sister and I were big into My Little Pony – we even had the castle.
Such a fun trip down memory lane!

  4. I used to adore watching all the weird cartoons from the 90s. The Cramp Twins, Ed, Edd ‘n’ Eddy, Cow & Chicken (lol), Tom & Jerry is classic, Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, basically Cartoon Network was my channel! I didn’t watch Nickelodeon that much because I only had a select few channels to choose from (I didn’t have Nickelodeon for long) but I remember Sister Sister and Sabrina the Teenage Witch!

  5. This gave me so much nostalgia! I don’t know if it was released in the 90s, but I spent a good part of my childhood playing Crash Bandicoot on my Playstation! I also had a very attractive selection of ‘pedal pushers’ that I wore with big chunky light up trainers – so glam!

I never owned a tamagotchi but my cousin did own one so I always played with hers whenever I visited for a holiday. I also got a playmobil toy, yay, such a memory. Wow, thanks for taking me back….arghh…childhood is so fun

  8. Ah, the good old 90’s! It was my worst decade for fashion! As a teenager, I thought baggy Rave jeans were a great look for me.. And luminous flares… Lol

  9. Brilliant trip down memory lane; That’s the decade I raised my two kids in and so identify with a lot of what you said. Trouble is… it all seems too long ago now !!!!!
