Yankee Candle Viva Havana Summer Collection 2017

As you probably know, I love Yankee Candle! I have the candles sat next to me; I can’t stop smelling them- they are so good! I always get excited when I know Yankee Candle is about to release new fragrances; I love to see what they come up with next. The new range is called Viva Havana. I have bought the small sample votives for the purpose of this post (I would have purchased them away!). They provide fragrance for up to 15 hours. Carry on reading to find out what I think of them!

Tobacco Flower

Okay, so this doesn’t sound like the most appealing fragrance as it includes the word ‘tobacco’. Before I smelt it, I thought it was going to be a typical floral scent, and not actually smell like tobacco- but it does, a little bit! I like the smell of tobacco, even though I gave up smoking. I like this fragrance, but it is too subtle for me to want to repurchase.

“The spicy sweet, woody scent of tobacco flower.”

Top: Ginger Root, Star Anise
Mid: Jasmine, Tobacco Flower, Bamboo Leaf
Base: Cedarwood, Tonka Bean

Cuban Mojito

Mojito time! As I have these candles sat next to me, this is the one I can smell the most. I have had a couple of Mojito’s before- they didn’t smell this good, though! The lime scent comes through very strongly; it smells very sweet and delicious! I would love to buy a large candle in this fragrance; it’s perfect for summer.

“A chilled mix of mint and lime, as refreshing as a tall, icy concoction on a tropical day.”

Top: Lime,
Mid: Cool Mint Accord
Base: Vanilla, Sugarcane

Viva Havana

Okay, so this is a fascinating fragrance. When you look at the cinnamon and nutmeg notes, you’d think it would smell Christmassy, but it doesn’t at all! This smell 100% reminds me of rustic souvenir shops/markets abroad when they have incense burning in the sun- let me know if you know what I mean! I would buy a large candle of this to remind me of holiday memories.

“A complex blend of sandalwood and spices, vanilla and nostalgia for old Havana.”

Top: Incense
Mid: Cinnamon, Clove, Ginger, Nutmeg
Base: Amber, Oud, Sandalwood

Delicious Guava

I have never tried a Guava fruit before, but I really want to now after smelling this candle! It smells so delicious and juicy; it makes my mouth water a bit. This is quite a simple fragrance, but that’s all you need sometimes. I would repurchase this candle if it was on offer.

“The delicious, juicy taste of ripe guava, filled with the luscious tropics.”

Top: Bergamot, Lemon
Mid: Peach, Guava, Mango
Base: Sugar

Final Thoughts

I am pleasantly impressed by the new summer collection- Yankee Candle has done very well! I feel like there is a good mixture of fresh, fruity and floral scents, there is something for everyone. I am going to say Viva Havana is my favourite fragrance because it is so unique; I have never smelt anything like it before.

What is your all-time favourite Yankee Candle fragrance?

  1. I love scented candles period! I haven’t had the chance to smell those yet but I look forward to it! I may even get the guava and Cuban mojito if I see them☺️

  2. I do love candles, and have so many… but I end up not lighting them because of the cat! But a funny story… I didn’t know what votives were…. and lit one… then came across a puddle of wax… dripping onto my carpet…oops!

  3. It looks like a great new range…they all sound really good! I like my candles to be really strong smelling and heavy (such as Frosted Cupcake which is really heavy sweet vanilla!)…which one would you say has the most power behind it? 😊
