To be honest, I don’t wear lip products very often. I’m low maintenance when it comes to makeup; I apply it in the morning and just hope it will last throughout the day without touch-ups. I don’t want to carry a lipstick around with me at work, so I just don’t wear it. Lip balm is enough for me. I wear lipstick when I go out though, and I look forward to wearing it, it is a little treat, and makes me feel good.
I am new to Too Faced- I only have this lipstick and an eyeshadow palette of theirs. Their products are a bit out of budget for me but are reasonable if you buy them at a discounted price. I got my two products from Debenhams when they had 10% off (oh, and I had a £10 gift card, so that helped!). The shade I have is ‘Sell Out.’
“Matte color gets a Melt-over! Our innovative formula glides over lips like a gloss but dries to an ultra-matte opaque finish. Infused with a no-sting lip plumper and filler, Melted Matte ensures color always looks rich, full, and kissable – never dry, shriveled or cracked. Doe-foot applicator comfortably coats lips in bursts of intense, saturated matte color that lasts for hours.”
I know Too Faced are known for their quirky and cute packaging- the packaging for this product is relatively simple, though. It has a gold lid and gold writing on the long slender bottle. I think it would still stand out from your other products, though- “pick me, pick me”!
Formula and Application
As it is a liquid lipstick, you put it on wet like a lipgloss; then it sets dry like lipstick. When you apply it to your lips, it’s not too thin or thick; it’s just right so you can make it look nice and tidy. It doesn’t dry too quickly either, so you have time to perfect your look. The doe-foot applicator makes it easy to line your lips, then fill in the rest. It is definitely long lasting and ‘kiss proof,’ it stays on for hours and just needs a quick top up. The colours are highly pigmented and very matte. I recommend you stay away from this lipstick when you have dry lips because it will show up dryness and fine lines. They claim to have lip plumping ingredients, but I can’t see results of this.
I like the colour, but I think it is a little bit too dark for me, I think the shade ‘Child Star’ would suit me more. The formula works well for me, and I love how long lasting it is. I wouldn’t pay full price for another one, but I would buy another if they were on sale!
