I had a lovely time with my family over the festive period- I can’t believe it’s all over now! Well, it’s not quite over for me; I’ve got my family coming over on New Years Day for yet another roast dinner, cooked by yours truly this time. I have also just enjoyed having a few days off work to have a little bit of downtime. On Christmas morning, we went to see my Grandad and his new cat (pictured below). The cat isn’t actually his, but she started visiting every day for hours since my Nan passed away recently- it’s like she knows to keep Grandad company.
My boyfriend and I spent a couple of days in Cambridge just after Christmas for our annual visit. Cambridge is about an hours drive away from us; it’s further enough away to feel like we’re away, but still close enough to feel homely. We did a lot of shopping to get those post-Christmas bargains (post to follow!), and we had a wander around and enjoyed a 3-course meal in Cafe Rouge. It even snowed one day, which made Cambridge feel even more magical than what it already is. It was nice to stay in a hotel for one night as that’s something we rarely do, and we pigged out at the breakfast buffet in the morning!
I feel bad because I feel like I have been neglecting my blog as I have been busy doing other things, but I know that spending time with loved ones is most important at this time of year. I don’t focus too much on stats, but they have been pretty dismal recently because of Christmas, but I’m sure most of you can relate to this as well. I’m looking forward to January to get things back on track again and write lots of fresh new blog posts. I have just bought my first camera (Canon M3), so I can’t wait to get going with it in the new year.
I know everyone has been doing this post, but I didn’t want tin be left behind. I did a ‘Birthday Haul‘ post, which was a lot of fun to write as well. I don’t know about you, but I like to be nosy and see what people get for their Birthday/Christmas, just out of interest. I hope this post doesn’t come across as bragging somehow- I’m just sharing with you what I got for Christmas. I am very grateful for everything I have received- thank you!
My main present from my parents was a Gtech vacuum cleaner (adulting!). I already had a vacuum cleaner, but its suction power was pretty much non-existent, so I definitely needed a new one. I never thought I would say this, but my boyfriend and I enjoy vacuuming now as the Gtech makes it so easy- our carpets even look new again! My main present from my boyfriend was a HP Sprocket (I know lots of you received one as well!). It’s a mini printer that prints out polaroid sized pictures from your phone- it will come in very useful.
As well as the HP Sprocket printer, my boyfriend also got me a little Zoella calendar and a box of Ferro Rocher chocolates. In my opinion, Christmas isn’t Christmas without a box of Ferro Rocher chocolates! I love this little calendar because it is small and pretty enough to sit on my dressing table.
As well as the Gtech vacuum cleaner, my parents also got me a few little gifts to go with my main present. I love Star Wars, so I got this cool Star Wars mug! On the same track, I also got a Yoda car air freshener (I can confirm, he smells better than you think he would). I want to get myself into a proper skincare routine in the new year, so I asked for a Liz Earle cleanser to help me on my way. I would like to start scrapbooking, so I got a scrapbook which is from WH Smith. The final item is a pink glittery Tangle Teezer to help minimise damage to my fragile hair.
I can’t tell you how many times I have almost bought a Ted Baker makeup bag before, but my head always won over my heart. I never told my sister that I would like one, but she bought me one! It is perfect because of the pale pink and copper combination- I’m very happy with it! I have a gold and silver themed Pandora bracelet, so my sister got me a gold coloured bracelet with my name on it so I can wear the two together. She also got me a set of yummy Monin coffee syrups and a Hyacinth bulb that has started to grow.
My boyfriend’s parents kindly gifted me some money in a card, and they got me a few little presents to open as well. They know I love bath bombs, so they got me a gift set from Bomb Cosmetics full of bombs, and a bar of soap that I am already using. They also got me a cute little sewing kit in a tin, so I’m sure that will come in handy at some point- I told my boyfriend that I’m not sewing his socks up, though! The last item is, of course, a selection box that I have since consumed!
What have you been up to this festive period? What did you get for Christmas?
